Preventive/routine care
AmeriHealth Caritas encourages you to get the right preventive/routine care you need. It is important that you and your family get this care to avoid getting sick. Please go to the following areas to learn more:

Dental
Your dentist will give you regular check-ups and take care of your dental care. Members who are eligible for dental services can get a routine dental exam and cleaning once every 6 months.*

Eye
All AmeriHealth Caritas members are eligible for a routine eye exam. Call your eye doctor to schedule an eye exam.

Your primary care practitioner (PCP)
When you join AmeriHealth Caritas, you choose a PCP. Your PCP oversees your health care. He or she is responsible for taking care of your health and, when necessary, arranging care for you from other health care providers.

Special tests for women
AmeriHealth Caritas covers mammograms for all women when it is ordered by the doctor. Pap tests are also covered for all women.

Care for your children - EPSDT
This special health care program is called Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT). EPDST was made to make sure that children get the health care they need.
*Not everyone is eligible for these services. Please call Member Services to find out if you are eligible.
Colorectal cancer
Colon and rectal cancer (colorectal cancer) is the third leading cause of cancer death. According to the American Cancer Society, adults without symptoms should start colorectal screenings at age 50. Regular testing helps find colorectal cancer early and makes it easier to treat.
