Need help to quit smoking? Check out these helpful tips:

  • Make a choice to quit smoking or using tobacco.
  • Call the AmeriHealth Caritas Pennsylvania Member Services department to find out how we can help you quit.
  • Get ready for the day that you plan to quit.
  • Wait a few minutes before you smoke a cigarette because the craving may pass.
  • Take five deep breaths and relax for a few minutes.
  • Practice going without a few of your cigarettes each day before you stop for good.
  • Drink water because it may distract you. It also helps to flush the poisons out of the body.
  • Do something else to take your mind off smoking.

Remember, most people try to quit 3 or more times before they quit for good.
