AmeriHealth Caritas Pennsylvania was founded by the Sisters of Mercy nearly 30 years ago. Today, we remain committed to our mission of helping people get care, stay well and build healthy communities, with a special concern for the poor. Our corporate parent partners are two of the nation's largest Blue health insurers, Independence Blue Cross (IBC) and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM).
